Post subject:  Research on the Bank of Knoxville (again)

About a month ago I ran across a PDF file indicating that the Tennessee library system had some records in an archive pertaining to several banks of the Free Banking era, including the Bank of Knoxville. Past experience had informed me that such records are only made available to residents of Tennessee, so I passed the PDF to my brother and asked that he investigate for me. Here is the PDF in question:

He went to a local library branch in Knoxville, and was unable to turn up the information identified in that document. He reckons he'll have to go to the Nashville library to get that information.

What he did turn up were several tidbits of information. Here are some of them:
The February 7, 1853 edition of the Memphis Daily Appeal had this on page 3:

The following article about fraud was published in the Nov 1, 1855 edition of the Louisville Daily Journal on page 3.

This is a letter to the editor from John Trenbath in response to the above article claiming he was complicit in the fraud. It was published Nov 6, 1855 in the Memphis Daily Appeal on page 2:

Finally, here is an article about discredited TN banks, among which Bank of Knoxville is listed, that was published in the Dec 5, 1857 edition of the Memphis Daily Journal:
