In my research project I've acquired some catalogues that don't have any proof listings, but might be of interest to others in the community that have different interests. Since I have a little free time now, I'll scan the old currency pages from some of the older listings and make them available here.

This Sotheby's sale actually has one proof listed. I've made the determination which notes is the proof... can you?

From the sale of October 7, 1993.

No obsoletes of confederate notes here, but there are some price estimates on federal type notes that would make you yearn for a time machine. From the Central States Numismatic Society convention auction held by James Kelly on April 16-18, 1948.

Well, this auction was in 1993 after the Christie’s ABNC auction.
The only proof mentioned in your scans was lot number 756:

Mississippi, obsolete banknotes (5), a remainder
and a proof (Haxby MS-25 G8, G12, G22, G26, MS-
140 G16, MS-185 G22, MS-210 G60), good to fine and
locally-issued Civil War notes (2), very fine (8)

If one reads the description literally, then the proof would be the 7th note in the lot, which would have Haxby number MS-210-G60. This $25 note is listed as a proof in Haxby and there also was one in Christie’s. Of the other Haxby numbers mentioned in the lot description only MS-140-G16 had a proof in Christie’s. No other has a proof listed in Haxby. Haxby lists MS-140-G16 as an issued note, so that the one in lot 756 probably was an issued note and not the Christie proof of MS-140-G16. It is also the 5th note in the lot, and therefore probably just an ordinary obsolete.

Given the above, I conclude with relatively high probability, that the proof was MS-210-G60.
